Notesbrowser saves automatically:
    - when you close it
    - when you minimize it
    - when you change to another ‘Category’

Reminder data is saved:
    - when you close the reminder
    - when you close Notesbrowser
    - when you minimize Notesbrowser
    - when you change to another ‘Category’

10. Internet Links

You can easily manage Internet bookmarks with NB. Just copy and paste or write a link
into a text field of NB, and describe it with comments, if you want. You can then access
it with a left doubleclick. If it begins with www, http or ftp it will open in your default browser
if you are online and the correct browser is selected in Configs.

11. Making Categories visible

Some of the ‘Categories’ on the right side of Notesbrowser are invisible.

When you start Notesbrowser for the first time, there are only four visible Categories:
'ToDo', 'Notes', ‘Big’ and ‘Archive’ but there are actually twenty Categories. The others
are invisible because they are unnamed. To make them visible, doubleclick on the
space below the visible ‘Categories’. You will see a list of unnamed Categories. Click
into the Category’s  blank name field and enter a name. Any Category that you name
will then remain visible.

12. Backup and Recovery

Backups:
Notesbrowser has a backup utility. We recommend that you do frequent backups
and backups are so easy in Notesbrowser, you only have to press the F9 function key!

That’s right, a single keypress backs up all your precious data, along with any changes
you may have made. You can also access the backup function from the main menu by
right clicking on the top left hand corner of the Notesbrowser window and selecting Backup
from the menu of options.

Recovery:
If you backup often and loose data, you can restore your last data backup with the Recover
function or you can Recover single ‘Categories’ of lost data from the backup folder.

The first thing you should always do if you have lost data: Make a copy of the whole
Notesbrowser folder (usually C:\Program Files\IC3) for precaution.

If you have difficulty remembering which Category you want to recover then check the
dates of the files in Configurations because they record the last time you changed a ‘Category’.

13. Data security

Like nearly all data on your personal computer information stored in Notesbrowser
is not safe! Someone could access your data if you don’t use strong encryption like
Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) and/or a firewall to protect against attacks from the internet.

Please note that PGP and personal firewalls are available as free downloads from the internet.

If you don’t use encryption or a firewall to protect yourself then it’s best not to save
critical data such as your credit card numbers, etc. in Notesbrowser!

You can also protect your Notesbrowser data by running the program in an area where your
computer will be safe from tampering and from prying eyes!

14. Known Bugs

Notesbrowser ran during long test periods without problems and is 100% stable on many
different computer systems. But software is never perfect and no two computer systems
are identical so we can’t guarantee that Notesbrowser will run on your system without problems,
or that your data will never be lost or corrupted.

If you find a bug in Notesbrowser, please describe it in as much detail as you can, including
your system configuraton, and E-mail it to us.

Please be sure to include the version number of your Notesbrowser software,
which can be found on the Info page in the configurations.
