The Reminder: The Scheduler (or Reminder) of Notesbrowser is a central feature which you can access
from every page with the small alarm icon on the lower right side of the main Notesbrowser window. The symbol next to it opens and closes the calendar. Another way to access the scheduler is click
on the Date/Preview bar.
Date Preview: The date preview, the small bar that is now probably red and on the top of Notesbrowser’s
main window shows the next date. If a date needs your attention it blinks; click on it to see its contents. You can turn this feature off in Configuration if you like.
Entering dates:
You can enter dates with "New date" from the reminder or you can select it from the Context (right click) menu from the Scheduler. If the Calendar and the Scheduler are both open,
you can doubleclick on a date in the Calendar and set up a new date entry. Once you have entered a new date press Ok to confirm. You will see the date appear in the reminder.
Changing date entries:
You can doubleclick on a date or select it and choose 'Change' from the context (right click) menu to change a date.
Important!
The scheduler does not allow that you enter a date or a time in the past and will automatically correct it to the current time or date. This correction may be a bit disturbing at the beginning,
because it is automatic. If you do not want to change a date (and do not want it to be autocorrected) you can select 'Cancel.
Alarm:
Notesbrowser can remind you of a specific time with a popup if it is running, even if it is minimized.
Repetition (Special Edition only):
You can set up repeating dates weekly (for example on Wednesday and Friday) or monthly or even yearly.
Birthday (Special Edition only):
You can set up a yearly Repetition and select the birthday field. If you enter the correct birthyear of the person you can see the age of the person in the scheduler.
Move:
The Calendar, Scheduler, date dialog and preview bar can be moved by clicking and dragging with the left mouse button. They will remember their new position.the next time you start Notesbrowser.
Insert dates in Fields: With ALT + D you can enter the date into a field that is selected in the calendar. Any text that you enter this way is only text, and not part of the Scheduler.
Due to a bug in Notesbrowser 1.3 the date can only be entered in some text boxes on every page. We will remove this bug in the next update!
Configure Scheduler:
The Dates table can be adjusted. You can select the width of the colums by moving the seperators, and you can hide columns you don't want showing from the Context (right click) menu.
Right click on any column heading and you will see a list of columns with check marks next to the columns to be displayed. To hide a column click on its name and the check mark will disappear
and it will no longer be displayed. You can restore it by clicking on its name again.NOTE – Remember that Notesbrowser MUST be running, either minimised or fully open, for
Reminder to work. Notesbrowser needs very low ressources if it runs minimized.
We recommend that you experiment with the Reminder until you understand the way it works before you rely on it completely.
Calendar:
The Calendar of Notesbrowser is like the Reminder a central feature which you can access
from every page with the small icon next to the alarm icon. If you click once on this icon in
the lower right corner, today's date will appear in the Calendar. If you double-click the icon, the Calendar will turned off or on again.
You can switch through the months with the ‘<’ and ‘>’ buttons. If you right click on the buttons you can switch the years. If you double-click on a date, and the reminder is closed, the date
will be inserted in the text box below the calendar. Click the Calendar’s title bar to show the current time. You can right click on the calendar, too. A Context menu will appear, where you
can choose the year, etc. |
