Unable to do a surge in Notesbrowser

When I try to find a street name in the Subject, fill in the surge box and press the magnifying glass nothing comes up and the name is in red.
The information is there but it just doesn’t show up.

I had this problem from the beginning but now my data base is growing I really need to be able to check out the information in the Subject line.
I hope you can give me an answer.

Hi Gerts,
can you give me an example of the word you want to search?

Have you tried to search for parts of the word, for example if you are looking for "main street" have you tried to enter just "main" or just "m" if it finds it?

Hi Dirk

It does make no difference what I put in the search box it looks if it is searching but the word in the box is always red after the search.
I tried many different ways with no luck.
When I put in 1 or 2 letters in the box nothing happens, but when I put in 3 letters or more you see it is searching and when it is finished you hear a beep.
It does not show were the word is and the word in the search box is red after the search.

Hope this is the information you need to solve this problem for me.

Hi Gerts,
this is the first time this bug has been reported. I will do everything to help you. But I need some more information to help you:
1) Do you use the latest version of Notesbrowser (1.9.2)
2) Which operating system do you use?
3) If you enter for example "xyz" in one of the description lines (above a textfield), put in "xyz" in the search bar, and then press F3, does it not find the word?
4) If you do this in a new category (one that has been empty before), does it also not work?
5) if you press CTRL + F2 and use the search box there, does it also not work?

Hi Dirk

1) Yes I do use the latest version of Notesbrowser
2) The operating system I use is Windows 7
3) No it does not find the word
4) ?????
5) No that still does not work

I will tell you how I put in the information in Notesbrowser.

I have a work sheet where I put the customers in from my business This is Microsoft Excell.
I copy the information from Excell and open the calender in Notesbrowser and paste the information in the subject line.
I set up the alarm and the repetition and click OK.

The reminder works Ok.
Just finding an address or a word is not working.

Is it maybe possible to email Notesbrowser to you so you can have a look at your side so it is easier for you to find the problem??
Or maybe remote access if you like than you can have a look and work out the problem.

Hi Gerts,
could it be that you want to search in the reminder dates? That is not possible by now, it is only possible to search in the notes fields.

Hi Dirk

Yes that is the problem.
I only have my customers in the reminder dates, because every year I have to send them a new invoice and the reminder tells me when to send it out.

I only use Notesbrowser this way because it is the easier way for me to use.

I hope that it will be possible in the future to have a search in the reminders because I have between 800 & 1000 addresses in Notesbrowsers reminder dates.

Hi Gerts,
yes this would be a useful feature. But I am thinking, the biggest problem is, how will it be best to present the findings in the reminder to the user? Do you have an idea?
Also it may be necessary to separate the search for notes from that for dates, this means make a separate search field in the reminder.
